Acne Home Treatment and Home Remedy

Get gorgeous skin fast with these useful at-home tricks. Technological breakthroughs may now do wonders, laser treatments, botox, surgery-the mind boggles. But these wonders come with a price. As such, many are now turning to natural, healing ways and homegrown solutions as safer bets.

Firstly, gentle cleansing of the skin is recommended. Rosewater is an excellent yet mild and cool anti acne solution. Milk and yoghurt are packed with Vitamin D and milk fats are very soothing. Cold yoghurt feels good on contact. Oatmeal on the other hand, makes a wonderful and calming face pack.

Turmeric

The beauty secret of Indian women of yore, turmeric has truly stood the tests of time. Turmeric is an excellent antibacterial agent and is included in many face packs. It also acts a mild brightening agent and has been known to fade scars. If you have oily skin, mix turmeric with rosewater to form a face paste. Dry skins will benefit greatly by using a face pack made from turmeric and milk cream or curd. Or simply mix with lemon juice for a powerful acne treatment.

Honey

One of Cleopatra’s favorite beauty secrets, honey has a multitude of beauty uses. It can be applied directly on affected areas or added with lemon juice. An apple a day not only keeps the doctor away but when mixed with honey, gives one clear and beautiful skin. Mint and fenugreek are also popular additions to honey facemasks. The Indians are also known for Multana miti paste, a traditional remedy for radiant skin.

Corn Flour and Egg

Another home remedy, the corn flour and egg mixed paste should be applied onto face for an hour before rinsing with water.

Cucumber

Cucumber helps eliminate dark spots and blemishes on pigmented skin. It’s also great for dark circles. Apply grated cucumber, either alone or mixed with an equal part carrot juice to the area. Another alternative would be to make a paste to be used on face. Rinse off after 30-45 minutes.

Fresh Mint

For pimpled skin and blemishes, grind a few mint leaves to a smooth paste and smear on your face daily at night. Wash off residue the next morning. You can also apply mint juice on affected areas and leave it overnight. Wash your face the next morning.

Garlic

Garlic has been used throughout the ages for its medicinal properties. Apply crushed garlic cloves on pimpled areas and leave for 30 minutes. This helps reduce swelling and soothes skin.

Ice Cube

Place an ice cube on pimple for 15 minutes as this helps reduce inflammation.

Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is to be applied sparingly on blemishes, alone or mixed with water.

Strawberry

Strawberries are perfect for reducing swelling with its alkaline rich properties.

Toothpaste

Dab a tiny amount on zits before sleeping. Wash off the paste the next morning. Ideal as a temporary fix.

Warm Salted Water

Start the morning with a splash of warm salted water for a matte façade throughout the day.

All Fruit Diet

Bite into a luscious fruit and it will not only give you a taste sensation but it also gives an amazing skin boost too. A fruit detox diet will rev up your system, rejuvenate your liver and give you clear skin.

Go Green
Say goodbye to junk and fast food and reach out for the greens instead. The essential nutrients and vitamins in these aid detoxification.

Water Baths

Heal the Body

The liver plays a big part in the digestive process and because it is responsible for detoxifying the body, it’s one of our overworked organs. Environmental pollutants, food chemicals, illness and stress all place a great strain on our liver. Milk thistle helps improve general wellbeing and also has a tonic effect on the liver. Beetroot, psyllium husks and apple are all excellent choices to prevent mycotoxin producers.

Cooking Procedure
Eat healthily and keep oils to a bare minimum. When you can, avoid deep-frying. Opt instead for baking and grilling. Load upon white meat and deep sea fishes and salmon.

Fenugreek
Make an anti acne infusion by boiling fenugreek seeds in water. Apply onto face.

Exfoliate using baking soda

It’s no secret that baking soda has a million uses around the house but it can also be used to make a gentle facial scrub. Make a paste with water and apply onto face and massage face for 15 minutes.

Vinegar
Dab vinegar or apple cider vinegar on affected spots after cleansing and drying the face.

Apart from the natural remedies suggested above, you can also whip up your own personal favorites.
